Lightbulb Seems like it could be true.

Hi Pauline,

Although Out of Print, I suggest that you check O'Hanlon and Hexum's, An Uncommon Casebook: The Complete Clinical Works of Milton H. Erickson, M.D. On page 48, the authors give the following case summary: "MHE saw a 20-year-old man with stunted growth. MHE found that the man saw everything as if he were much smaller than he really was, as if he were looking at the world from his waist height. MHE got him to hallucinate his world as if he were standing partway up a staircase. After a time of this, the man grew 12 inches in one year. MHE never wrote the case up because he was certain no one would believe it."

The authors cite Ericksonian Approaches to Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, edited by Jeff Zieg, published in 1982, p 282 as their source. As I do not have a copy available, perhaps Dr. Zeig could further speak to this.

Best wishes,

Joe O'Rourke
