...so find a therapist who believes as you do that nothing is gained from historical accounts of your problems. You should have a wealth of resources as many therapists today are forward looking rather than past focused (e.g. solution focused, strategic, Ericksonian, narrative etc.).

Also it might be helpful to realize that in general psychiatrist's have nothing to do with therapy these days. They only provide medication and are focused on Newtonian mechanistic ideas rather than post Newtonian interactional and cooperative realities.
