i was reading your post dr reid and thought i might offer a couple topics for discussion.....when working with court-referred clients (adults and juveniles) the issues of confidentiality are stretched because of requirements to report to the court. through the years i have developed my own boundaries around this issue that seem to have worked for all, therapists, court, clients, but i would like to hear how others have dealt with this issue. one thing i do is throughly explain to all involved exactly what might be reported and what might not - hmmm, exactly and might in the same sentence, how does that work? so maybe others would like to offer feedback/opinions?
