I have never had a patient with a specific phobia. Most phobias that I have experience are anxieties with specific triggers.

As far as anxieties are concerned, this technique runs comparable to systematic desensitazation. It is a little more elegant in that it has an automatic coping skill built into it, disassociation.

NLPers will tell you the structure of an anxiety is different than a simple phobia; however, I have not found this remark to be clinically relevant.
