Re: How to skillfully work with "overeager" clients?

I've had this experience a number of times and think that the suggestions Sandra has given you are excellent.

I generally simply tell people some of the things I have heard of that have gone...

Re: Targetting "fuzzy" memories

Thanks for understanding re. my long answer.

Wow - how tragic it might have been if the client you mentioned had been with a therapist who may have drawn conclusions...and with that kind of...

Re: feelings re. sa but no memories

Hi,

I am going to make a general comment of what I have found to be quite helpful regarding those "fuzzy memories" or a feeling that "something traumatic" may have happened but they have no...

Re: Help for Borderline /Bipolar

Some of these alternative methods, particularly energy work (EFT is one example, Zensight Process is another) you can learn about online, for free, and they are very much geared to self-help use.

Re: Helpful for those who find no relief in CBT?

I have had excellent results using energy work to heal GAD. If applied skillfully, most people will notice improvement immediately. Sometimes that improvement is quite dramatic after only a few...

Re: somatic/body oriented therapy

I have often used EMDR and bodywork (reiki and/or energy psychology techniques) simultaneously.

The bodywork and/or energy work can really soften and help in rapidly moving through whatever...

Re: Ending EMDR before completion

Thanks Sandra - point well taken.

I meant to say that if current emotional stability is an issue, I would generally suggest staying away from targetting trauma directly. This may or may not fit...

Re: Anesthesia Awareness

Hi Fleurs,

I don't know what will happen with you personally - it can vary.

Sometimes people will experience the flashback in the same way during EMDR. However, I find more often that people...

Re: Anesthesia Awareness

Hi,

While I don't have experience with this, I also agree that it would most likely help.

I also wanted to add that Sandra's comment that you may experience the EMDR as if under partial...

Re: Imaginal Nurturing

Yes, this is kind of what I meant.

Anyone may have a difficult time in a sense being in two places at once, but for someone with DID...it's a different kind of experience.

I also find with some...

Re: ego state therapy

Hi Daisy,

I would also highly recommend "Stranger in the Mirror".

Thanks Sandra - I will try this.

I also find exercise helpful - going for walks and yoga. :)
